Trot singer Jeong Dong-won (18) revealed his self-owned property worth 2 billion won, purchased without a loan.

On the 22nd, Jeong Dong-won’s YouTube channel ‘Jeong Dong-won (JD1)’ released a video titled ‘First Disclosure! / Dong-won’s Dream House’.

Jeong Dong-won disclosed his property worth 2 billion won located in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul for the first time and explained, “I’ve never revealed it while living here after moving, but since it’s my channel this time, I decided to open everything up.”

Jeong Dong-won’s house was decorated in a modern black and white theme. The kitchen, living room, and master bedroom were all neatly organized, catching the eye.

Jeong Dong-won said, “(At the time of interior designing) it seems like my adolescence wasn’t over. I had this weird idea that I should look macho, so I did everything in black while decorating. I often regret that,” he said, bringing laughter.

Jeong Dong-won expressed his affection, saying, “When I was young, I always lived in poverty in the countryside. I always thought that if I succeeded, owning my house would be a dream. (This house) is my first home, and I feel more attached to it.”

He further explained, “The house I lived in before was passed down for family rituals,” adding, “Since we didn’t have a house, we lived there, incurred debts, and lived with my family in a small room next to a café building in my hometown while running a restaurant. That’s the house that appeared on ‘Human Theatre’.”

He continued, “We weren’t a well-off household. Both my brother and I always held the thought, ‘If I make a lot of money later, I want to buy my house without debts.’ So the proudest moment was when I bought this house.”

Jeong Dong-won explained, “Since I was 11 years old, (my grandfather) took me to many events to increase my stage experience. Since then, my goal was to save money and buy a house, so I steadily saved a lot of money for that purpose.”

He further shared, “I felt proud when my brother came up to Seoul, looked around the house, and left. I don’t mind when others say they’re envious, but I feel really proud when my family says, ‘You raised them well,’ or ‘You’ve succeeded.’”

In 2023, at the age of 16, Jeong Dong-won purchased the Mesenapolis residential-commercial complex in Mapo-gu, Seoul, for around 2 billion won. It is known that singer Lim Young-woong also resides in this apartment, which boasts a 57-pyeong area with a Han River view.
