[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Kim Yea-eun = Starting with the ‘Gageodo’, the island loved by the sea, on August 24, 2009, EBS ‘Korean Journey’ has ventured into the hidden beautiful landscapes and people across Korea, showcasing the country’s stunning nature, history, culture, people, and food. It is EBS’s representative long-running documentary program.

The ‘Korean Journey’, which has consistently received love from viewers for 17 years, will present a special journey with the 10-part special version of the 4000th episode ‘Dazzlingly Beautiful’ on EBS 1TV on the 26th (Monday) at 9:35 PM.

This 4000th episode special, ‘Dazzlingly Beautiful’, recounts a journey of revisiting the dazzlingly beautiful natural scenery and the people living harmoniously within for the past 17 years.

The journey revisits figures such as ‘19-year-old Choi Jeong-woo, the youngest sea diver’ who worked in the sea instead of a sick grandmother, and the ‘Chupa Chups Monk’ Beophungsa Temple’s Sambo Monk and dog Bori, who resonated deeply with viewers on SNS.

Especially in this special, announcer Lee Geum-hee, who has been the voice of the program, steps out as a traveler for the first time.

She directly steps into the scenes only seen through screens, having genuine encounters with people, amplifying expectations as it is the first outing since ‘Korean Journey’ aired.

# Revisiting the Story Loved Most by Viewers

EBS ‘Korean Journey’, which showed the healing power through encounters with our ordinary neighbors. The 4000th episode special starts with the question, ‘What connections from the 4000 dazzlingly beautiful encounters are etched in our memories?’ and will be aired as a total of 10 episodes over two weeks.

From May 26th (Mon) to 30th (Fri), it will be composed of the ‘Top 5 Theme Journeys’, focusing on the five most beloved themes by viewers.

Centered on themes such as ‘Taste’, ‘Mountain Temple’, ‘Grandma’, ‘Remote Area’, and ‘Island’, not only will it highlight the meaningful journey and people drawn by ‘Korean Journey’, but also presenters representing each theme, including announcer Lee Geum-hee, will directly participate in the journey, conveying the unchanging emotion and fragrance of life despite changing times.

The following week, from June 2nd (Mon) to 6th (Fri), it will be composed of five episodes: ‘Where Destinies Rest’, ‘Five Brothers of Gongjaksan’, ‘My Sweet Life’, ‘Visiting Deoksangi Valley’, and ‘Walking Jinangowon’, re-illuminating the gradually vanishing hometown’s sentiment and fading family images in different sceneries, with a quiet daily life of those living in harmony with nature.

In a rapidly changing world, it’s set to gift time to rethink the ‘essence of life’ we might easily overlook and ‘harmonious coexistence of people and nature’.

Looking back at 17 years of ‘Korean Journey’, which traversed every corner of the country capturing stories of nature, people, and their lives, the special journey of revisiting memorable moments and special connections, the EBS ‘Korean Journey’ 4000th episode special ‘Dazzlingly Beautiful’ will first air on May 26th (Mon) at 9:35 PM on EBS 1TV.
