Choi Sooyoung, a member of Girl’s Generation and actress, made a surprise announcement of her Hollywood debut. On the 25th, Choi Sooyoung released the character poster of the movie ‘Ballerina’ on her SNS. ‘Ballerina’ is the first spin-off in a universe set between the third and fourth installments of the ‘John Wick’ series. The film depicts the journey of Eve (Ana de Armas), a ballerina from Ruska Roma who was trained as an assassin like John Wick (Keanu Reeves), seeking revenge after her family is killed. Choi Sooyoung took on the role of Katla Park, a character of Korean descent.
Katla Park is the daughter of colleague Ilseong from Ruska Roma and is protected during Eve’s first field mission. Previously, Choi Sooyoung has appeared on stage in America as a member of Girl’s Generation, but news of her debut in Hollywood as an actress was not known.
Fans also left congratulatory and supportive comments like “Congratulations unnie,” “You are the best, Hollywood here you come,” and “So proud,” in response to the surprising news she delivered herself. ‘Ballerina’ is scheduled to be released in North America on June 6.
