MBC’s crime analysis commentary show ‘Hidden Eye’ focuses on the shocking criminal deeds of a national representative-turned-broadcaster. In the episode airing at 7:40 PM on the 21st, the hidden side of a male broadcaster, who was known for his friendly image, is set to be unveiled.
The broadcast on that day covers three true incidents: a man wielding a baseball bat in the city center, customers secretly drinking whiskey at a bar, and a shocking violence case that occurred within a close domestic relationship.
The most noteworthy content is the indiscriminate assault and attempted sexual assault by a national representative-turned-broadcaster on his former partner. According to the producers, this man trespassed into his ex-girlfriend’s house and attempted physical and sexual crimes, while the victim managed to escape to the bathroom and lock herself in.
However, the perpetrator threatened, “You’re up against the strongest guy in Korea,” and attempted to break down the door, continuing the assault. The tense situation at the time of the incident was fully recorded on the home camera installed at the victim’s residence, and the broadcast reveals the victim’s desperate voice and the situation of that day.
MCs Kim Sung-joo, Kim Dong-hyun, Park Ha-sun, and Soyou were shocked upon hearing the details of the incident, and profiler Kwon Il-yong analyzed, “This case is not mere anger but an extreme expression of dominance and violence.”
The ‘Crime Rules’ segment of the program analyzes how the hidden violence and duality of the perpetrators are eventually revealed, under the theme “The criminals ultimately □□.”
