[Star Daily News=Seo Taeyang Reporter] Actors Kim Moo-yeol and Jin Ki-joo have confirmed their appearance in Netflix’s new series based on the webtoon ‘True Education’. On the 20th, Netflix revealed the casting lineup for ‘True Education’, announcing that Kim Moo-yeol, Jin Ki-joo, Lee Sung-min, and Pyo Ji-hoon would be joining.

‘True Education’ is set against the backdrop of the reality of collapsed teacher authority, establishing the Department of Education’s Sub-division for Teacher Protection, and depicts the process of supervisors being dispatched to problematic schools to punish students and parents who cross the line.

Kim Moo-yeol will play the protagonist role of Na Hwa-jin, a supervisor from the Teacher Protection Division, while Jin Ki-joo joins as Lim Han-lim, a former special forces supervisor. Lee Sung-min will take on the role of Choi Kang-seok, Minister of Education, and Pyo Ji-hoon will play genius officer Bong Geun-dae. The series will be directed by Hong Jong-chan, known for ‘Juvenile Justice’, and written by Lee Nam-gyu, known for ‘The Morning Comes to the Psychiatric Ward’.

This is frustrating. Seriously, for a guy of Young-chul’s financial status, there are plenty of celebrities he could play with. Why would he bother with someone like Young-ran?

I bet Young-chul’s girlfriend is 10 times prettier than Young-ran. Just look at Young-ran’s face, it’s fierce.

If celebrities want to run a YouTube channel, one editor is enough, or if they’re too busy, just one planner too. But they have three editors, two writers, and two PDs, that’s why it’s at a loss.

Even if the views are only in the thousands or tens of thousands, it’s decent, right? Considering the recognition level, I think they’ve done decently well.

No matter how much “magic of editing” and composition are said to be important, the person appearing in the video is the most important. Why can’t he see that?
There are so many successful one-person YouTubers who use almost no staff.
Blaming others and thinking about swapping them out is not the mindset to have. You need to blame your own abilities; no matter how many top-tier PDs you have, you won’t be funny.

Went to the channel and just glanced at the titles and views without watching the videos. For someone with 150k subscribers, the views seem decent. There are many celebrities with lots of subscribers but only getting thousands of views. Having multiple videos with over 100k views isn’t bad.

The original webtoon of the same name gained popularity with its exhilarating plot of punishing students with powerful government authority. However, it was criticized for containing racial and gender discriminatory elements in some episodes. As a result, its service was suspended on North American platforms, and updates were paused temporarily in Korea for modifications.

Regarding these controversies, director Hong Jong-chan said, “I am aware of the concerns about episodes in the original work and will create the drama responsibly and with a refined perspective.”

Meanwhile, Kim Nam-gil, who was initially considered for the lead role, declined to participate in the production. During the ‘Fiery Priest 2’ press conference, he stated, “‘True Education’ is a project that I have already turned down once. If many people are uncomfortable with it, I think it’s right not to do such a project.”
