The official 25th comedy couple, Kim Joon-ho (50) and Kim Ji-min (41), were seen visiting an infertility treatment clinic on the first day of their honeymoon, preparing realistically for a second child.
On the 3rd episode of SBS’s variety show ‘My Ugly Duckling’, the couple’s chaotic daily life during their honeymoon trip to Gyeongju was depicted.
Kim Joon-ho and Kim Ji-min, who toured Gyeongju’s landmarks together, went shopping for traditional liquor to use as return gifts. With a massive wedding attended by 1,200 guests and a congratulatory money list surpassing 1,400 people, the cost of return gifts amounted to 12 million won. Kim Joon-ho joked about categorizing return gifts based on the price of congratulatory money, mentioning Cha Tae-hyun as giving the lowest amount of 30,000 won, while Yoo Ji-tae, Shin Dong-yeop, Seo Jang-hoon, Kwon Sang-woo, and Lee Young-ja were mentioned as high contributors, evoking laughter.
The couple visited an infertility specialist clinic. Kim Ji-min was diagnosed with a healthy condition, but Kim Joon-ho was told he was “very tired” and that his “male function is somewhat low, 5 out of 10.” When Kim Joon-ho asked about the preparation period for having a child by December, the doctor advised that “it takes two months for sperm to improve.”
In response, Kim Joon-ho asked, “Is there any herbal medicine that turns you into the Hulk today?” and started preparing for their first night as newlyweds. As evening came, while Kim Ji-min was showering, Kim Joon-ho prepared dinner and did push-ups at their accommodation, drawing laughter. He expressed his strong desire for a honeymoon baby, saying, “I need to receive the energy of the universe.”
The broadcast also drew attention with Kim Ji-min’s “affair concern” remark. Looking at the slimmer Kim Joon-ho after his recent diet, Kim Ji-min joked, “Seeing your sharp face wet looks sexy,” and “You used to look like a wet chubby guy, but now you look like you might cheat.” Kim Joon-ho laughed, saying, “Isn’t that a compliment?” and Kim Ji-min added, “I’m a little uneasy. You’re too handsome,” expressing her affection. Kim Joon-ho replied, “I go crazy when you come out of the shower,” continuing the warm atmosphere.
Previously, their wedding attracted attention for its gigantic scale. Held on July 13 at the Grand Intercontinental Parnas Hotel in Samsung-dong, Seoul, about 1,200 guests attended, with venue rental costs alone reaching 100 million won, and food costs 200 million won. On the broadcast, Kim Joon-ho expressed his upset, saying, “Cha Tae-hyun only gave me 30,000 won as a congratulatory gift,” and Kim Ji-min amusingly said, “All the other big amounts were given to me.”
Meanwhile, Kim Joon-ho previously married a theater actress in 2006 and divorced in 2018, while this is Kim Ji-min’s first marriage. The couple began dating publicly in 2022 and became husband and wife after three years. Their sincere efforts from the first day of their honeymoon for a baby have gained much support from viewers.
