Actress Gyuyoung Park has caught attention by revealing a toned figure after losing 15 kg since her debut.
In the YouTube channel ‘Narae Style’ released on the 24th, Gyuyoung Park, ahead of the release of the Netflix movie ‘Mantis’, appeared and candidly shared about her diet, body management, and exercise routine. Gyuyoung Park said, “I am about 15 kg lighter than in my school days,” and added, “I started dieting because I wanted to wear pretty clothes and be more visible on screen after debuting.” She emphasized that she is a ‘hard-working actress’ rather than having a naturally fit body, attributing her results to constant self-management.
Gyuyoung Park revealed that she is particularly focusing on weight training to strengthen her body. “I have almost mastered back workouts,” she said, mentioning that she focused on her shoulders, arms, and latissimus dorsi for the action-packed ‘Mantis’ filming. Narae Park admired her muscles, saying, “The lines are really beautiful,” highlighting her well-toned arms and shoulders. Gyuyoung Park said creating such muscle mass as a woman is not easy, and she immersed herself in workouts because she had to handle action scenes.
Her perspective on her body and approach to exercise has also changed. Gyuyoung Park said, “I think bikinis are about attitude. Confidence is the most important,” adding, “I wear it, so what’s the problem?” Narae Park agreed that “Swimsuits are ultimately about attitude,” sharing a laugh about their approach to bikinis. Gyuyoung Park named the Netflix drama ‘Sweet Home’ as a turning point in her acting career. She recalled an experience from an audition where she arm-wrestled with a female assistant director, saying, “The director seemed to want to see the desire in my eyes.” Since then, she earned the nickname ‘Daughter of Netflix’ by appearing in ‘Squid Game’ seasons 2 and 3, ‘Celebrity’, and ‘Mantis’.
She also shared candid impressions of actors she worked with. Gyuyoung Park said, “Every time I see ‘Eunwoo Cha’, I can’t help but think, ‘This is the most handsome guy in this universe’. It’s difficult to get used to seeing him.” She added about the senior actor Siwan Im, “I watched him even before debuting and seeing him in person, he’s so impressive and perfect at action.”
