Group NewJeans (NJZ) claims that HYBE intentionally tried to damage their reputation.
On the 7th at 10:30 AM, a hearing was held at the Seoul Central District Court’s 50th Civil Division regarding Adore’s injunction against the 5 members of NewJeans (NJZ) to maintain company status and prohibit advertising contract agreements.
During the hearing, NewJeans (NJZ) referenced the Jeju Air disaster at Muan International Airport last December, stating, “HYBE’s scheme almost made creditors the target of criticism.” NewJeans (NJZ) claimed, “The members intended to wear disaster ribbons on the Japanese stage, but HYBE stopped them, saying ‘Japanese broadcasters might take issue with it.’
However, upon confirmation, the Japanese broadcaster had no issue,” they explained, “Ultimately, Hanni hastily made a memorial ribbon to perform on stage.” They added, “Afterward, artists belonging to HYBE were found to wear common memorial ribbons on stage.
If the debtors had listened to the creditors, it could have been an event that made them the target of criticism.
This is evidence that creditors are damaging the reputation of debtors behind the scenes,” they added. Today’s injunction hearing is the first legal procedure since NewJeans declared the termination of their exclusive contract with Adore last November.
Adore filed this injunction in January to prevent NewJeans members from signing independent advertising contracts and activities.

In March, they are set to release new music and have been listed in the lineup for ‘Complex Live,’ a series of Hong Kong festival concerts.
They plan to unveil their new music under the name NJZ for the first time at this event.
