The agency Ador claims that there are no reasons constituting a breach of contract for NewJeans (NJZ).
At 10:30 AM on the 7th, a hearing regarding the prohibition of agency status preservation and advertising contract signing injunction requested by Ador against the five members of NewJeans (NJZ) was held at Seoul Central District Court’s 50th Civil Division.
In February, Ador expanded the purpose of their injunction request not only to prohibit advertising contract signing but also to restrict NewJeans (NJZ) from all musical activities and other related activities as a singer.
The Ador side stated, “Each of the debtors has been paid 5 billion won in settlement money.
The debtor cannot say anything regarding ‘important obligations’ as an agency.”
It was alleged that they were intentionally discriminated and excluded, investing a tremendous 21 billion won since 2018 nurturing the group,” they said. And, “(NewJeans (NJZ) and Ador are) not in a friend or lover relationship.

However, the claims made by NewJeans (NJZ) are not matters that destroy the exclusive contract at all,” adding, “It’s an attempt to create such an external appearance, not a breakdown of trust.” The injunction hearing was held for the first time in court since NewJeans (NJZ) declared a termination of their exclusive contract with Ador in November last year.
In January, Ador filed this injunction to prevent individual advertising contracts and activities by the members of NewJeans (NJZ).
At the time, Ador stated, “We find it unfortunate that the members are attempting independent entertainment activities, such as soliciting new activity names, before receiving a legal judgment, as this could potentially be a significant contract violation.”
Prior to this, Ador had also filed a lawsuit for the confirmation of the validity of their exclusive contract with NewJeans (NJZ) at Seoul Central District Court in December.
