100 ‘Unforgiven’ Shin Min-ah “Decided to appear before my role was even revealed … I want to continue doing genre films.”

Shin Min-ah revealed her reasons for appearing in ‘Bad Connection.’ On the morning of the 31st, at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, the production presentation for the Netflix original series ‘Bad Connection’ was held.

Director Lee Il-hyung and actors Park Hae-soo, Shin Min-ah, Lee Hee-joon, Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Kwang-soo, and Gong Seung-yeon attended the event. On this day, Shin Min-ah said, “The script was fresh.”

The names were intriguing, like ‘Loan Shark Man’ and ‘Witness Man,’ which drew me into the script.

I almost forgot when I was offered this piece,” and added, “I was so curious about the twists and turns that I felt I had to do it before my character’s story started in earnest,” she explained her reason for appearing. Her character in the drama is a trauma-ridden surgeon.

Shin Min-ah said, “It’s a character who faces someone she never wants to encounter again, and her emotions surge,” and described, “She experienced a significant trauma in the past and is now working as a surgeon.

The character is unable to sleep due to daily torment.

I pondered over the weight of expressing the trauma from the past as pain in the present,” she explained.

This is Shin Min-ah’s first role in an OTT genre drama in three years.

Shin Min-ah said, “I originally liked genre dramas, so I wanted to try and do well,” and expressed her wish, “Even after ‘Bad Connection,’ I want to do many genre works.” Meanwhile, ‘Bad Connection’ is a crime thriller depicting the stories of six people intricately connected by an inescapable bad fate, based on a popular webtoon of the same name by author Choi Hee-sun.

It will be released on April 4th. Reporter Lee Joo-in juin27@edaily.co.kr
