On the 2nd, in the SBS entertainment program ‘My Ugly Duckling’ (hereafter ‘MUD’), broadcaster and doctor Yeo Esther exposed the past when she suspected her husband Hong Hyegul of infidelity, causing a sensation.

Lee Sang-min and Tak Jae-hoon visited Hong Hyegul’s house, who resides in Jeju Island. Hong Hyegul and Yeo Esther currently live apart, and Hong Hyegul explains, “After about 30 years of living together as a couple, there comes a time when you want to be alone,” adding, “Five years ago, I had a nodule in my lung, so I came down to Jeju Island for recuperation with my dog.” However, Yeo Esther reveals, “Seeing him often builds up stress,” showing their differing perspectives.

Hong Hyegul candidly revealed that he is living on his wife’s money, catching attention. It is known that everything from his house, golf practice area, kayak, to various exercise equipment is provided by Yeo Esther. Lee Sang-min and Tak Jae-hoon expressed amazement, saying “It’s amazing to live like this.”

Hong Hyegul expressed a desire to purchase a yacht and asked Lee Sang-min and Tak Jae-hoon, “Please persuade my wife.” However, Yeo Esther opposed, saying, “It could lead to extramarital affairs if he goes out on a boat or gets into an accident.”

Yeo Esther revealed a past suspicion of Hong Hyegul’s infidelity. “Having arrived back unexpectedly due to bad weather, my husband didn’t answer the phone,” she said. A week later, while sorting receipts, she found a record of a two-person meal and wine had been consumed in Cheongdam-dong.

“Even if I don’t see him as a man, I get jealous if he’s with another woman,” Yeo Esther claimed, noting suspicions arose since a female colleague, initially unable to join a business trip, suddenly could, and they took the same flight. Tak Jae-hoon and Lee Sang-min joked, “Got him, let’s go!” drawing laughs.

Hong Hyegul pleaded, “It was all a coincidence, nothing happened,” but Yeo Esther pointed out, “When he came back, his outfit wasn’t ordinary.” Hong Hyegul insisted, “I’m truly innocent, just had a pleasant meal” yet Yeo Esther remained unconvinced.

The couple argued endlessly over the yacht purchase and past incidents, with Lee Sang-min and Tak Jae-hoon became visibly overwhelmed saying, “Let’s just leave today.”

Hong Hyegul sparked controversy by commenting, “Since menopause, her biological attraction diminished.” Lee Sang-min and Tak Jae-hoon reacted strongly, saying, “That’s grounds for a divorce suit.” Yeo Esther added, “I’ve had to endure such remarks,” expressing her upset.
