The band LEENALCHI, known for the ‘Tiger is Coming Down’ syndrome, released a pre-release track from their upcoming second album on the 5th. Through the single ‘Low Gods and Hybrids,’ LEENALCHI showcased their uniquely imaginative and addictive new songs ‘Look Look’ and ‘Watch Your Step.’
Especially noteworthy is the ‘Look Look’ music video, directed by Park Soo-hwan and featuring choreography by the Ambiguous Dance Company, who collaborated with LEENALCHI on ‘Tiger is Coming Down’.
In the music video, the Ambiguous Dance Company performs their distinctive and passionate ‘four-dimensional dance’ in a mysterious wilderness, enticing viewers with new and unfamiliar charm while aligning with the dance style shown in LEENALCHI’s ‘Tiger is Coming Down,’ the Korea Tourism Organization’s ‘Feel the Rhythm of Korea,’ and Coldplay’s ‘Higher Power.’ The new song indeed fits the expression ‘quintessentially LEENALCHI.’
‘Look Look’ is a fast-tempo synth-pop style.
The repetitive phrase ‘Quietly quietly look look’ triggers earworm symptoms on par with ‘Tiger is Coming Down/Tiger is Coming Down.’ ‘Watch Your Step’ features the impressive chorus ‘Crazy sunlight envelops the darkness!’
The music video for this song, while touching upon the worldview of LEENALCHI’s first album, depicts a completely new adventure. Directed by Noh Yu-kyung of VCRWORKS, it is completed with fantastic animation. Unlike the first album based on the pansori ‘Sugungga,’ LEENALCHI’s second album intends to create an entirely new worldview, crafting the lyrics and tunes within that story. The new story was created by playwright Kim Yeon-jae.
Comprising a total of 12 songs, LEENALCHI’s second album depicts an adventure against war and violence.
It’s a concept album telling a story about the disappeared universe.
The protagonists ‘Dumi’ and ‘Jaru’ embark on a mission to reclaim the names of hybrids stolen by the king and general who initiated a war of conquest.
LEENALCHI plans to release singles containing new songs every month until the full completion and release of their second album starting from November this year. Meanwhile, LEENALCHI recently gained popularity again by participating in the OST of the much-discussed tvN drama ‘Jungnyeoni,’ starring Kim Tae-ri, with the song ‘Bird Song.’
